As part of extra art, students in fourth grade class are working on pouch weaving. To prepare for weaving they learned how to create a loom, how to warp a loom, and how to design a pattern for their weaving. They had to envision their patterns or designs, and draw it out before starting their weaving. It took a lot of focus to learn how to weave properly. I am very impressed with their ability to engage & persist. Some students have already started finishing their weavings, and will move on to finishing details like buttons or straps.
Check a look out below for students working, and be sure to click through to our Artsonia gallery in the next few weeks to see their finished pieces.
