Visiting the Fitchburg Art Museum

Standard

As part of their ancient civilizations studies, 6th graders went to the Fitchburg Art Museum. The day was spent rotating through 3 activities, a self-guided tour of the Art of the Americas & the Greek, Etruscan, and Roman galleries, a guided tour of the Discover Ancient Egypt gallery, and an obelisk activity.

Inspired by Chicago area art teacher, Tricia Fuglestad, I decided to record students questions, insights, and reactions to the field trip via the Audioboo app.  It took a little push, but once students shared, they were excited to share more.  Next year, we will hopefully have all the teachers armed with iPads, to record students thoughts.

Check out the 6th graders thoughts below.  The artwork they are talking about will show with each recording.
