Color Theory & a Color Bug workshop – Grade 5

Standard

Room 14 is still working on their sketchbook workshops. This week they started on the color bug activity, in which they practiced many types of colored pencil blending.  While introducing this activity, I reviewed complementary colors and introduced analogous colors.  This led to a discussion about color, how art materials are made, and how color in art materials differ from color in light. It was a very interesting conversation to all.

During this discussion, one student brought up a color test that he took online.  I shared it with the students while they were working, and offered to share it on the blog, so they could take it, if they’d like.

So here is the link to the color test.  Directions are at the top.  A lower score is better.  If you take the test, please come back and share your results.
