Observation Drawings in Scientist Notebooks! – Room 4 – Grade 1

As part of my collaborations with classroom teachers this year, I visited room 4 to help them with some observation drawings in their scientist notebooks.  We talked about why a scientist would do observation drawings, and that you really need to slow down the way you look, so you can notice all the details.  Some 1st grade scientists labeled the parts of the seashells they were drawing, and even wondered how the animals lived in the shells.  I look forward to helping room 4 with their scientific drawings again this year!
