Pinwheels for Peace – September 21st 2012

Standard

Students at Conant participated in the international installation project Pinwheels for Peace this September.

In art class students discussed what the word peace means, and how we all can lead peaceful lives in school, at home, and in our community.

Students decorated their pinwheels with words and drawings that showed what they think peace is.

The pinwheels were installed outside Conant on September 21 for International Day of Peace.  This was the 8th year of the art installation Pinwheels for Peace, and the 7th year Conant students have participated.

Join us next year when we celebrate International Day of Peace with our Pinwheels for Peace installation one day early on Friday September 20th.

Don’t miss the video at the bottom of the post, showing some of the pinwheels twirling in the wind.
