Grade 6 artists in Mrs. Raffa’s class have finally finished their sculpey pens. Monday classes at the end of the year, are a few days behind, due to all the Monday holidays we have throughout the year.
Just like Mrs. Meek’s class, the artists in Mrs. Raffa’s class first sketched out their ideas, and then turned their designs into 3D works of art.
To help get them started the class learned about functional art and non-functional art. Conant artist’s don’t often have the chance to make functional art, so I always enjoy the unit’s in each grade where I get to introduce them to other types of functional art.
These pens are going to be sweet pieces of functional art; they will look great, AND help them take notes the rest of the year and when they move on to R.J. Grey.
