Glazing Coil Pots – Gr 4 (Room 18)

Standard

Last week all three fourth grade classes glazed their bisque fired coil pots.  These pieces will be fired in the kiln, and the glaze will turn to a shiny glass like surface.  Any glaze has a slightly thinner then milkshake consistency, and contains silica,  along with many other materials.  When fired in the kiln to around 1800 degrees fahrenheit, the glaze changes to a solid phase.
